STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Funkstown, MD has been blessed by God with a fully functional and accessible facility. We have been charged by God to be faithful stewards of this facility and strive to make it available for fellow disciples and the broader community.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
1. "Application for Use" form is required for all organizations and individuals who desire to use the church facilities.
2. Requests should be made at least 30 days prior to the activity date, and submitted to the Church Office.
3. Use of church facilities will be granted only after it has been determined that the space is available for the requested date and time.
SCHEDULING:
1. St. Paul’s may reschedule/cancel the date of an "Application for Use" due to emergencies, unexpected congregation functions (i.e. funerals), or weather-related conditions. In the event of cancellation, St. Paul’s will give as much notification as is possible and will make a reasonable attempt to reschedule the activity.
2. In the case of weather-related closures, St. Paul's will follow the guidelines of the Washington County Public Schools (WCPS). If WCPS dismisses early or is closed, activities at St. Paul’s will also be canceled.
FACILITY USE GUIDELINES:
1. St. Paul’s believes that the facilities entrusted to us by God are a testimony to our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Groups using the building are expected to treat the facilities with respect.
2. Decorations must be in good taste and temporary. All decorations/signage will be attached in a non-destructive manner. Pins, staples, wire, and duct tape are not acceptable. Painter's tape or removable hangers are recommended.
3. The use of alcoholic beverages, drugs, and flammable or explosive devices is strictly prohibited inside and outside the facility. Smoking is permitted outside only. Cigarette butts and trash should be removed prior to leaving the premises.
4. The person(s) requesting use is responsible for crowd control and any abuse of the facilities that may occur. The facility will be returned to its original condition (inside and outide) at the conclusion of use. St. Paul's reserves the right to keep the security deposit in the event of breakage, damage or failure to restore the facility to its original condition.
FEES:
St. Paul’s mission is to be "Faithful Disciples Serving in Christ’s name." Congregation members and their immediate families are provided no-cost use of the facilities. Fees collected from non-member use will help maintain the quality of the facility and offset the cost of supplies, utilities, and maintenance. Non-Profit organizations are not charged a fee for use; however, they are encouraged to make a donation.
I have read and understand the guidelines and expectations associated with facility usage at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
